Before going into any detail about how we can learn animation we should know about animation first.
What is animation?
Animation is the art of manipulating pictures to appear as moving images. This process includes designing, creating layouts, drawing, and then preparing for photographic sequences. From the cartoons of the '60s to today's generation of Anime and the Avenger's End game animation came a long way. It still has the potential to go much further.
Types of animation
There are many types of animation:-
1. Traditional animation
2. 3D animation
3. 2D animation
4. Stop motion
5. Motion Graphics
But we are focusing on the majority part which is 3D animation and 3D animation.
1. 3D Animation
3d animation is the process of animating objects in three-dimension. These 3D objects can move and rotate like real objects which we see every day. This is the peak of animation right now, at least at the time of writing this article.
3D animation is used in TV shows, movies, games and it forms the heart of visual reality. 3D animation is used in a lot of visual-related artwork of the modern-day world. Movies like Avatar, Toy Story series, The Lion King (2019), and many more animated in 3d. From these movies, you can guess how powerful 3D animation is.
Three main sections of 3d animation
1. Modelling:- Process of generating 3D objects.
2. Layout:- Process of positioning objects.
3. Rendering:- Process of creating a complete output of 3d animation.
These sections are followed by 3d animator day in and day out. It differentiates based on types, although the process remains the same.
2. 2D Animation
2d animation is the art of creating movement in two-dimensional space. It means that they only have width and height. It was created by pulling together the frames in which one drawing is followed by another which is slightly different from it.
All Animes like Naruto, Demon slayer, Attack on titan, etc. are animated in 2D. In the earlier times, it was processed by drawing on paper but with the development of computer technologies, this process was also digitized through various 2D animation software with the option of drawing the character directly into the computer and animating them. The 2d animator must good at sketching and drawing.
